Veronica Renee Jenkins of Columbia, S.C., announces the engagement of her mother, Marilyn Denise Harris, to Vernell McDonald Sr., son of the late Virginia McDonald of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is also the daughter of the late Mr. J.C. Harris and Mrs. Evelyn Gordon Harris of Natchez.

She is a graduate of North Natchez High School and a graduate of Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis, Minn. She is employed by Cash Cow in Vidalia and is a professional beauty consultant for Mary Kay.

She is the granddaughter of the late Forster and Marguriet Gordon of Natchez, the late Douglas and Josephine Harris and Mrs. Mae Ella Harris, all of Meadville.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School in Natchez.

The wedding will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Antioch Baptist Church in Natchez.
