VIDALIA — A celebration of life for Larry Donnell Smith, 57, of Waynesboro, Va., who died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Christopher Robinson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory in Staunton, Va.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church in Vidalia.
Mr. Smith was born Oct. 11, 1955, in Natchez, the son of Andrew James Sr. and Sarah Williams Smith.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Staunton Salvation Army Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed by Virginia Castone as a shipping supervisor. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Fanchelle Smith; and one brother, Samuel Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Rolando M. Smith; two sons, Larry “L.J.” Smith Jr. of Lake Charles, La., and LaQuin Torian of Staunton; four daughters, Londie Smith and Angelique “Mikki” Smith, both of Houston, LaTasha Simon of Lake Charles and Shemico “Nikki” Williams of New Orleans; three sisters, Beatrice Marshall of Hopewell, Va., Sarah Jones and husband, Albert, of Vidalia and Willia Mae Basley of Ferriday; his mother-in-law, Katie M. Davis of Staunton; and 10 grandchildren.
