NATCHEZ — Services for Charles Ray Collier, 71, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Wynn officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday, both at the funeral home.

Mr. Collier was born May 9, 1942, in Roxie, the son of Claude Claiborne Collier and Eddice Havard Collier. He retired from Natchez Water Works in 2002 after 30 years of service.

Mr. Collier was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Natchez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Myrtis Green ; and five brothers, Mickey Collier, Wayne Collier, John Collier, Claude Collier and Howard Collier.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Glenda Collier; one daughter, Jackie Cloy and husband, Tommy; two grandsons, Cade Cloy and Sean Cloy; two great-grandchildren, Alee Cloy and Parker Cloy; three sisters, Shirley Lee and husband, Jimmy, Eddice Curtis and Dorothy Oneal, all of Natchez; and one brother, Bobby Collier and wife, Sherry, of Denham Springs, La.

Pallbearers will be Mike Collier, Robert Franks Jr., Chris Franks, Butch Thorpe, James Norman and Danny Veade.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronny Lee, James Thorpe, Ronnie Thompson, Mike Blackwell and Roy Blackwell.
