DEVILLE, La. — Funeral services for Mary Louise Butler, 73, of Libuse, La., who died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at Riverside of Alexandria, will be 2 p.m. today at Open Door Community Church in Deville with the Rev. Steve Scull and the Rev. Garland Ryder officiating.
Burial will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Alexandria.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until the time of service today at the church.
Mrs. Butler was an active member of Open Door Community Church for several years and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her in-laws loved her dearly, and she will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved her.
She was a homemaker, child care worker and enjoyed crafts, sewing and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, “Joe”; an infant son, William Earl Butler; her parents, Walter and Polly Lofton; and 2 brothers, Jerry and Kenny Lofton.
Survivors include two sons, Robby Butler and wife, Terry, and Jimmy Butler and wife, Sarah; three sisters, Alice Lofton Griffin and husband, Thomas, Joyce Lofton Buckles and husband, Robert, Sally Lofton Faulkner and husband, Glen; three grandchildren, Julie Michelle Butler, Cpl. William Jacob Butler and Mary Catherine Butler; a sister-in-law, Berniece Ladner Butler; a brother-in-law, Thomas Butler and wife, Diane; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dale Rawls, James Rodney, Mike Luty, Steve Martin, Ken Sterling, Jimmy Butler, Andy Parker and Ernest Jordan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cpl. William Butler and members and friends of the Open Door Community Church.
