JONESVILLE — Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie E. Davis, 78, of Jonesville, who died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 in Alexandria, will be 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Jonesville with the Rev. David Carlton and the Rev. Jim Elder officiating.

Burial will follow in the Jena Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Johnnie and Lillie Edwards; a son, Joseph Mark Davis; brothers, Oliver Edwards, Howard Paul and Johnnie Frank Edwards.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph H. Davis; her son, Tim Davis and wife, Melissa; brothers, Norman Harold Edwards of Vidalia, Robbie J. Edwards of Tioga; two sisters, Annie Lee Taylor of Ridgecrest, Dorothy Freeman of Jonesville; daughter-in-law, Joni F. Davis; grandchildren, Scott Davis, Joseph Davis, Heather Davis, John Davis and Jordan Davis all of Jonesville; great grandchild, Hunter Blake Hamilton.

Pallbearers will be Scott Davis, Joseph Davis, John Davis, David Freeman Jr. Rob Freeman and Ryan Hamilton.

The family would like to express a special thanks to caregivers, Margaret Chevallier, Vera Coates, Michelle Jefferson, Brittany Ellis, Genese Sanders, Four Rivers Home Health and Journey Hospice for all the wonderful care and service given.
