NATCHEZ— Funeral services for George Sheldon Anding, 92, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, in Ridgeland, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.

Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Jefferson County under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. Anding was born Aug. 26, 1921, in McNair, the son of Silas Leru Anding and Julia Agnes Gilbert Anding.

He was a veteran of World War II and a POW. He was a member of St. Mary Basilica, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph Anding; and sister, Mary Lucy Pritchard.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Willie Mae Anding; son, Charles Eugene “Gene” Anding and wife, Denise, of Natchez; two daughters, Patricia Karol and husband, Ed, of Tallahassee, Fla.;Cynthia Waldrop and husband, Jody, of Natchez; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Garret Anding, Jamison Anding, William Austin, Lance Clark, Eric Clark, Dustin Smith, and Patrick Hall.
