NATCHEZ – Memorial service for Mary Lou Massey Byars Boyles, 84, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, in Oxford, will be at noon on Tuesday, at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.

She was born in Woodville on Jan. 22, 1929. After graduating from MSCW in music, she moved to Natchez, where she married Frank Linder Byars. She was active in many community organizations such as Musical Arts League, Natchez Historic Society, Natchez Cemetery Board, DAR, Garden Club of America and served as president of the Natchez Garden Club, as well being the piano and organ player for Jefferson Street United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Frank Linder Byars and Barney Lewis Boyles; grandson, Fitz Robert Morgan IV; two sisters, Lydia Massey Berryhill and Frances Massey Watkins.

She leaves behind two daughters, Jeanette Byars Morgan of Greenwood, MS and Frances King Bryant of Oxford; three grandchildren, Cade King Clurman, Dewey Wayne King III and Mary Virginia Morgan; and one great-grandchild, Carter Monroe Clurman.
