FERRIDAY— Funeral services for Tracy L. Platt, 72, of Ferriday, who died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at Heritage Manor Health and Rehab, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Doty Road Church of God in Ferriday with the Rev. Gerald Scott officiating.

Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Platt was born on Dec. 19, 1940, in Ferriday, La., the daughter of George and Elvee Lewis Smith. She was a dietitian.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Joseph Platt.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Anderson, Jowanda and husband Phillip Curry, all of Jonesville, La.; a nephew she raised as her own, George Smith and wife Bernadette of Channelview, Texas.; three brothers, George Smith of Houston, Jerry Smith of New Orleans and Steve Smith of Jackson; nine sisters, Denise Jones of San Antonio, Texas, Diane Nelson and husband Sidney of Seattle, Washington, George Platt and Nellie Hayes of Ferriday, Barbara Burns of Cleveland, Ohio, Marilyn Jones and husband MacArthur, Nola Lucas and husband Donald, all of Houston, Rose Scott and husband Dave and Katie Smith of New Orleans; three grandchildren; godchild, Cynthia Skinner and husband Frank of Ferriday; special aunt, Dr. Abelean Hinton of Lansing, Michigan and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
