NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Frieda Majors Crow, 71, of Natchez, who died peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, while being well cared for by the thoughtful and considerate staff at Adams County Nursing Center, will be at a later date.
Ms. Crow was born on May 10, 1942, the only child of Fred and Ruby White Majors of Jackson. She was a proud graduate of Millsaps College and spent her life as a dedicated elementary school teacher whose last position was teaching kindergarten in Waterproof, La.
Frieda loved the children she taught and she loved all animals, including her many cats, dogs and rabbit, but especially her beloved poodle, L.P. Frieda also loved the City of Natchez and had a wealth of knowledge of its history, which she was always willing to share with tourists and scholars alike.
Her last generous act was donating her body to the University of Mississippi Medical Center so that others may benefit from their research.
Ms. Crow is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her many friends in Natchez, New Orleans and Athens, Texas.
