WATERPROOF— Funeral services for Talmadge Claude “Snooks” Lee, 83, of Waterproof, La., who died peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Waterproof, with the Rev. Larry Walters and the Rev. Curtis Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at Oakley Cemetery in Gilbert, La. under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Lee was a member of First Baptist Church in Waterproof. He was a devoted Christian and long time deacon, who enjoyed serving the Lord. After 32 years, he retired from Shell Oil Company and enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. His greatest enjoyment was family. He loved attending events that centered around his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Albert Lee and Beatrice Taylor; great-grandson, Joey Lee Nations; brothers, James M. Lee and Carl J. Lee; and sister, Helen Grace Lee.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Patsy Jane Matherne Lee; sons, Albert W. Lee of Waterproof, Daniel Patrick Lee and partner, Robert Howard of Lake Charles; Gregory Paul Lee and wife, Vicky of Waterproof, John Michael Lee and wife, Lori of St. Francisville; daughters, Brenda Jane Lee Richard and husband, Audie Lee of Waterproof, and Laura Jane Lee Hancock of Vidalia; eight grandchildren, Robin Richard, Lance Richard, Jim Bob Hancock, DeAnna Nations, Tyler Hancock, Seth Lee, Toni Bolding and Ricky Brumlow; and 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Lee of Haughton, La. and Paul Lee of Ridgecrest; five sisters, Catherine Haslip of Virginia, Bonnie Mae Bowman of Waterproof, Anita Smith and Martha Vining of South Carolina, and Naomi Lee of Pineville; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Robin Richard, Lance Richard, Jim Bob Hancock, Tyler Hancock, Seth Lee, Ryan Nations, Charles Bolding and Bobby Lee.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Sanders, Sambo Jones, Mike Gandy, James Lentz, William Wheat, Clint Gandy, Ray Mize, Tommy Hale, the Rev. Fulton McGraw, and the Rev. Beard.
