HARRISONBURG — Funeral services for Edwin Berchman Trichel Jr., 78, of Harrisonburg, La., who died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at LaSalle General Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Harrisonburg First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Barker and the Rev. Robert Bradley officiating.
Burial will follow in Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Trichel was born May 28, 1935, in Harrisonburg, the son of Edwin Berchman Trichel Sr. and Mae Andrews Trichel.
He was a resident of Harrisonburg, attended Jena Church of Christ and was a mechanic. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Joy Trichel; and parents.
Survivors include his daughters, Kelly Hudspeth and husband, Dave Allen of Jena, and Jamie Tubre and husband, Mike of Harrisonburg; sister, Cathleen Trichel Dale of Sicily Island, La.; niece, Cathy Sue Dale of Harrisonburg; three granddaughters, Emily Hudspeth Greenwald, Jordon Allen Hudspeth and Bethany Joy Hudspeth; two grandsons, Oren Berchman Tubre and Sidney Owen Tubre; one great-grandson, Silas Lee Greenwald.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Cater, Jeffrey Cater, Mike Cater, Paul Cater, Oren Tubre, Sidney Tubre, Brent Lanius, Brian Lanius and Vic Wilson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronald “Rip” Cannaday, Billy Floyd, Wince Morris, Nelson Poole Jr., Joe McGee, James McGee, James Johnson and Ken Terry.
