FERRIDAY— Funeral services for Mose Lee Collins Sr., 86, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at Riverland Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harvest Baptist Church in Ferriday, with the Rev. Leroy White officiating.
Burial will follow in St. James Church Cemetery, in Frogmore, La. under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Collins was born Nov. 19, 1927, in Wildsville, La., the son of Reuben and Melissa Bowie Collins.
He was a truck driver for George Eames Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Estelle Jefferson Collins; daughter, Emma Leonard; nine siblings; grandson, Jimmy Sheppard; and great-granddaughter, Cine’ Collins.
Survivors include five sons, Lee E. Collins and wife, Lauretha, James E. Collins and wife, Gaynell, Danny Collins and wife, Cloletha, all of Ferriday, Mose Collins Jr. of Marion, La., and Joseph Collins of Oakland, Calif.; five daughters, Irene C. Walter and husband, Ronald, Diane Lewis, Gloria Barnes and husband, Darnell, Susie Sheppard, and Estelle Foster, all of Ferriday; special friend, David Eames and his family, of Ferriday; 35 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
