NATCHEZ — Graveside services for William S. Burns Jr., 78, of Shreveport, La., who died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, in Shreveport, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. John Kramer officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Burns was born on April 1, 1935, in Natchez, the son of William S. Burns Sr. and Olivia Brevard Burns.

He was a proud member of the LSU. Band and Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was also a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Shreveport.

Mr. Burns was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Susan Burns Cassard; and a brother, Warren T. Burns Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey W. Burns of Shreveport; two grandsons, Michael Cassard of Shreveport and Neal Cassard of Colorado; son-in-law, Steve Cassard of Colorado; sister-in-law, Carolyn Burns of Asheville, N.C.; a niece, Leeann Naas of California; and a nephew, Warren T. Burns Jr. of Georgia.
