Holder was known as Mrs. Ruby by her many friends and church family. She had a life-long ministry of missions and helping people. Her service began at home by being a devoted wife to her husband, Preston Holder, for 67 years and their two sons, Curtiss and Preston “Little Press” Jr.
Her devotion to family took on a new role when circumstances made it necessary to take three grandchildren, Jim, Corey and Cathy to raise. She had a great love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her love of the Lord was evidenced by her love for family and for people in need. She ministered to people with physical and spiritual needs as a missionary locally and throughout central Louisiana.
She was director of the Delta Storefront Mission in Ferriday for the last 10 years and church mother since her husband has been pastor of Ridgecrest Baptist Church for the last 10 years.
Survivors include her husband, Preston Holder; two sons, Curtiss Holder and Preston Holder Jr.; grandchild Jim Holder, Corey Holder, and Cathy; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kevin Holder, Cory Holder, Kennith Holder, Chris Holder, Jim Holder and Christian Holder.
Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandson Jadden Kennedy.
