NATCHEZ— Funeral services for George Bonner, 82, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Natchez Church of God with the Rev. Julius Roberts officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until service Wednesday both at the church.
Bonner was born on Nov. 5, 1931, in Sterlington, La., the son of George W. and Mary Vercher Bonner.
Bonner was member of Natchez Church of God until his confinement with Alzheimer. His most wonderful achievement was his rededication of his life to the Lord in 1968. All who knew him could attest to his new found witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. We know he is rejoicing, his body healed, and he is praising the Lord.
Bonner was an avid golfer on his favorite greens at Duncan Park. He had a total of three hole in ones and was very successful in the senior tournaments. He retired after 35 years with Halliburton.
Survivors include his loving wife, Carolyn Bonner; daughter, Lisa Bonner; two stepsons, Greg Brown and wife, Pam, and Kevin Brown; grandchildren, Devin Brown, Peyton Brown, Anna Brown and Meg Brown, sister, Mabel Dawson; brother-in-law, Doug Carter and wife, Leesa; sister-in-law, Sherlene Bonner, nephews, Joe Carter and Rowan Carter; and a number of loving friends.
