11:28 Carmen Pressgrove obitpicNATCHEZ— Funeral services for Irma Carmen “CooCoo” Doughty Pressgrove, 72, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Brewer and Melaine Hall officiating.

Burial will follow in Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Pressgrove was born on July 8, 1941, in Natchez, the daughter of Walter Alexander Doughty Sr. and Julia Owen Carmen Doughty.

She was known throughout the community as “CooCoo.” This term of endearment was started by her oldest niece, Melanie Hall, but privy not only to family but to all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her husband, always supporting each endeavor.

Her love for her family was evident through her constant efforts to have family close at all times by having family gatherings and celebrations. Carmen’s main purpose was made clear by a quote from her daughter, “CooCoo was put on this earth to be a mother.”

Pressgrove was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-laws, Doris Burt and Tiffee Fore; father-in-law, Enos Burt; and daughter, Valerie Fore Givens.

Survivors include her stepfather, Lamar Spencer; stepmother, Golden Doughty; husband, Andy Pressgrove Jr.; three sons, Tip Fore, Bill Pressgrove and wife, Sabrina, and Cap Pressgrove; three daughters, Ginger Cavin, Dawn Fore Perry and husband, Gus, and Missy Fore Foreman and husband, R.T.; two brothers, Walter Doughty Jr. and Jerry Hawthorne; one sister, Patty Allen and husband, Don; sister-in-law, Linda Doughty; 12 grandchildren, Joey Givens and wife, Diane, Ashley Henderson and husband, Shane, Duston Dore’ and wife, Deirdre, Collin Dore’, Eric Perry and wife, Colbey, Christopher Perry, Valerie Forman, Sam Forman, Carsen Pressgrove, Conner Pressgrove, Payden Pressgrove and Dylan Pressgrove; four great-grandchildren, Ayden and Ethan Givens, Sophie Wheeler and Brady Bean; and lifelong friend, Virginia Ann Hughes.

Pallbearers will be Eric Perry, Christoher Perry, Collin Dore’, Payden Pressgrove, Duston Dore’, Joey Givens, Conner Pressgrove and Shane Henderson.

Honorary pallbearer will be Dylan Pressgrove.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Daisy Ware and Helen White, Dr. Kenneth Stubbs, Dr. Jack Rodriguez, Deaconess Hospice and M. D. Anderson.
