NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Jake Floyd Jr., 80, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Pasley officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of service today at the funeral home.

Mr. Floyd was born Jan. 27, 1933, in Crosby, the son of Jake Floyd Sr. and Mary Katherine Sturdivant Floyd. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Ferriday. Mr. Floyd worked at Illinois Central Railroad and worked in the auto industry for 45 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Altha Ella Etheridge Floyd and one great-grandchild, Nichols Harrell.

Surivors include one son, Jake Floyd III of Ocean Springs; two daughters, Julia Floyd Bertrand of Ferriday and Belinda Floyd Klar of Crosby; four grandchildren, Brian Harrell, Allison Sykes, Shelby Rosalies and Ron Louis Novak; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Nelma Hazlip of Natchez, Joyce Papillion of Houston, Gloria Rymer of Natchez and LaVonne Floyd of Vidalia.

Pallbearers will be Dwight Hazlip, Michael Hazlip, Randy Hazlip, Kyle Hazlip, Leland Rymer and Lionel Rymer.
