Prep boys roundups: Ferriday picks up 2nd win of season

WINNSBORO, La. — Will Scott led Ferriday with 18 points, and Ronald Davis had 17 points as the Trojans picked up their second win of the season by defeating the Franklin Parish Patriots 76-70 Tuesday night.
Ferriday trailed Franklin Parish 20-16 at the end of the first quarter before turning the momentum to its side in the second quarter. The Trojans scored 20 points in that quarter and held the Patriots to just 12 points for a 35-32 halftime lead.
The Patriots tried their best to reclaim the lead, but the Trojans outscored them 20-18 in the third quarter and 21-20 in the fourth quarter.
Four Ferriday players ended up scoring in double figures. In addition to Scott and Davis, Shannon Morales scored 12 points and Steve Wilson added 11 points. Franklin Parish was led by Reginald Carter with a game-high 22 points.
Ferriday (2-6) plays host to Sicily Island at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Block 60, Monterey 48
JONESVILLE — The Block Bears improved to 5-4 on the season after defeating the Monterey Wolves 60-48 Tuesday night. Monterey dropped to 10-5 on the season. No other information on the game was available.
Block plays next at the Jena Tournament at 4:45 p.m. at 4:45 p.m. against Marksville. Monterey hosts LaSalle at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
