VIDALIA — Services for Bettie J. Withers, 78, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Ledford officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Withers was born April 12, 1935, the daughter of Deloi and Ella Dickson Blewer.

She was a housewife. She was a lifelong resident of Ferriday, although she spent time with her family at their family compound in Campti, La., fishing and making memories with her girls and grandchildren. She loved her girls and catered to them even as they were older and her grandchildren were her heart.

She never met a stranger and her home was always open to anyone who wanted to come. She was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Withers was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andrew William Withers; one brother, Deloyce Blewer; and one sister, Elaine Blewer.

Survivors include four daughters, Gwen Huff and husband, Charles, Kathy Oliveaux, Tanya Jenkins and husband, Mickey, all of Vidalia, and Angie Gunter and husband, Barry of Natchez; 10 grandchildren, Shannon White, Chris Huff, Stacy Huff, Andrea Smith, Amber Peek, Brook Smith, Michael Jenkins, Brittany Jenkins, Amber Gower, and Jonathan Gower; two brothers, Ronnie Blewer and wife, Darlene, of Campti and Edwin Blewer of Coushatta, La.; and sister-in-law, Beth Blewer of Campti; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Jenkins, Jonathan Gower, Cody White, Bryan Reid, Chris Huff and Bryce Graves.

Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
