FERRIDAY— Services for Emma Lee Holmes, 84, of Ferriday, who died Monday, Dec. 15, 2013, at her residence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.

Burial will follow in Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Holmes was born Aug. 9, 1929, in Waterproof, the daughter of Adam and Katie Humphrey Holmes.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include three sons, James Edwards and wife, Barbara, and Robert Holmes, all of Chicago, and Henry Holmes of Las Vegas; three daughters, Gloria H. Henderson of Harvey, Lorraine Holmes and Brenda Holmes, both of Ferriday; one sister, Dorothy Forman of New Orleans; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two special friends, Priscilla Jackson and Mary Brown, both of Ferriday.
