FROGMORE — Services for Johnny Jefferson, 56, of New Orleans, formerly of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Rehab Center in New Orleans, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. James Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Jefferson was born Aug. 1, 1957, in Ferriday, the son of Willie Carter and Alice Jefferson.

He was a mechanic.

Mr. Jefferson was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sons, Johnny Jefferso Jr. and Dennis Veal; two daughters, Marla Fox and LaTanya Veal; two stepsons, Bobby Williams and Byron Williams, both of New Orleans; two stepdaughters, Mary Williams and LaQuisha Williams, both of New Orleans; six brothers, Milton Jefferson, Anthony Jefferson, Donald Ray Jefferson and Ronald Jefferson, all of Ferriday, Willie Jefferson of New Orleans, and Isaiah Jefferson of Houston; two sisters, Janice J. Strickland of Ridgecrest and Alice Marie Jefferson of Ferriday; 10 grandchildren; and a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives.
