NATCHEZ — Funeral services for John E. Gray, 77, of Natchez, who died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, will be at 3 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Brewer officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at 2 p.m. today until time of services at Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Gray was born Dec. 9, 1936, in Natchez, the son of John S. Gray and Ruby Watson Gray. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Natchez. Mr. Gray was a member of the M Club at Mississippi State University and a veteran of the Korean War. He served in the Army Mississippi National Guard for 44 years.

Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Gray; one daughter, Kim Hodges; three brothers, Tommy Gray, Richard Gray and Sam Gray; and one sister, Ginger Slover.

Survivors include one son, Calvin Gray and wife Kimberly of Petal; and three grandchildren, Jonathan Gray, Brianna Gray and Kirk Wells.

Pallbearers will be Carl Timmons, Russ Smith, David Fatherree, Craig Wells, Roger Davis and Robert Neal.
