NATCHEZ — Natchez Police are investigating a possible armed robbery at a convenience store Saturday evening.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., a black male in a black jacket and hoodie entered the Citgo station in the 100 area of U.S. 61 North, Lt. Craig Godbold said.
The suspect jumped a counter and forced the cashier to give him money before forcing her into a back room, Godbold said.
While the suspect did not directly threaten the cashier with a gun, Godbold said she told investigators she believed he had a weapon tucked into his pants.
The store clerk was shaken but otherwise uninjured, Godbold said.
What direction the suspect fled the area is unknown, and no getaway vehicle was seen in the area, Godbold said.
The matter remains under investigation.
