FERRIDAY — Services for Ruth Mae Taylor, 77, of Simmesport, formerly of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Bayou Chateau Nursing Center in Simmesport, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Doty Road Church of God in Ferriday with the Rev. Herbert Anderson Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Taylor was born Oct. 20, 1936, in Eva, the daughter of James and Ella Bennett Taylor.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Rose, James and George Taylor.

She is survived by four sons, Eric Taylor and wife, MaToya, of Clinton, Md., Terry Taylor and wife, Jacki, Michael Taylor and Larry Taylor, all of Simmesport; one daughter, Deborah Anderson and husband, the Rev. Herbert Anderson, of Mt. Olive; two brothers, Walter Taylor, of San Francisco, and Bryan Davis, of Dallas; four sisters, Shelia Taylor, of Newark, Calif., Jean Cleveland, of Long Beach, Calif., Tanya Bradford, of Vidalia, and Sandra Taylor, of Dallas; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
