NATCHEZ — Four Natchez men were charged Tuesday with armed robbery after they reportedly robbed a woman at gunpoint Saturday night at Sipe’s Store on East Franklin Street.

Natchez Detective Jerry Ford said Micheal J. Harris, 29, 304 Brown Wood Road; Samuel D. Sullivan, 28, 3 North Circle Drive; Tre Coles, 19, 1249 Watkins St. and Antone J. Johnson, 24, 6 Birdwood Road, were charged in connection with the robbery.

Ford said Harris, Sullivan and Coles reportedly entered Sipe’s at approximately 10:30 p.m. wearing bandanas over their face and demanding cash. One of the men held a shotgun to the clerk’s head, forced her to the ground then stole her purse, cell phone, cigarettes and cigars after the cash register could not be opened.

Johnson was reportedly parked nearby in a getaway car, police said.

Ford said after the robbery, the owner of Sipe’s reviewed the surveillance footage then returned to his other business, Talk of the Town, where he coincidentally found the four men hanging out.

Ford said the owner recognized the men from the surveillance footage and alerted police.

The men reportedly confessed to the robbery after being arrested, Ford said, and were being held without bond Tuesday evening in the Natchez City Jail.
