BOVINA — Memorial services for Keith Guin Little, 85, of Vicksburg, who died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bovina United Methodist Church.
Mr. Little was born May 23, 1928, in Beauregard, the son of Walter Hugh Little II and Vona Guin Little.
Mr. Little graduated from Culkin Academy High School and served in the U. S. Army until 1949 as a military police during World War II in occupied Italy. After the military, Little and his father established a farming and cattle partnership with operated in mainly Warren and Hinds and later in Jefferson County. In 1965, he left the family business and became a policeman with the City of Vicksburg, where he was affectionately called “Papa” by his fellow officers. In 1985, he retired as a policeman and worked for several years with Miller Transporters. From 1991 to 2006, he lived in Church Hill and served as a tour bus driver until he returned to Vicksburg in 2006.
He enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting and traveling with his wife and friends. He was also an active member of the Church Hill and Bovina United Methodist Churches and once served on the Bovina Church’s Board of Trustees.
Mr. Little was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Robert “Bob” Little of Shreveport.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Nettie Vinson Little; two sons, Randall Keith Little and wife, Karen, of Brewton, Ala. and Walter Vinson “Vince” Little and wife, Julie McGee, of Vicksburg; one granson, Ethan Keith Little of Vicksburg; four brothers, Paul Chapman Little, Walter Hugh Little III, Tom Warren Little all of Shreveport and Larry W. Little of Church Hill; one sister Vona Lugenia Little Wagner of Church Hill; and a number of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
