Weather-related closures continuing Wednesday

NATCHEZ — Because of severe weather conditions experienced today in the Miss-Lou, several schools in the area will be closed Wednesday.

Snow is expected to taper off this afternoon with a chance of some flurries, National Weather Service meteorologist Anna Weber said.

Temperatures will continue to fall over night with a low of 14. Wednesday’s high is expected to be about 38.

“Roads will most likely remain slick throughout the day,” Weber said. “But no melting will occur tonight but expect melting Wednesday afternoon, which could cause problems Thursday morning.”

East of Brookhaven and Central Mississippi had the worst, where the primary precipitation was sleet, Weber said.

• Flyover bridge at the intersection of U.S. 61 and Lynda Lee Drive

• U.S. 61 South past Natchez city limits

• Silver Street

• D.A. Biglane Street

• Learned’s Mill Road

• Travel on the Natchez Parkway south of I-20 (near milepost 87, near Clinton) is not recommended.

• U.S. 61 from north of St. Francisville to the Mississippi state line
