Flowers come into bloom this week

Happy Super Bowl Sunday to all! Even though the weather has been quite blustery this winter, the members of the Natchez Garden Club have begun to look forward to spring.

With this month’s meeting, the focus will be on flowers in general in preparation for those flower beds and the upcoming Natchez Garden Club Flower Show.

At 11 a.m. Thursday, the members of the Garden Club will have their business meeting at Ellicott Hall. Afterwards, at 11:30 a.m., the program will begin. This program will be presented by Donna Smith, Tina Brumfield and Gay Austin.

Each of these ladies are accredited flower show judges and members of the McComb Garden Club. They are members of the Design Study Group and the Mississippi Flower Show Judges Council.

They will be able to help our members begin to think about the Flower Show and their designs.

This year’s Flower Show is scheduled for the afternoon of May 17 and will take place at Monmouth Plantation.

With the theme of “Garden Wedding,” what a fitting place to host this exquisite display of floral design! We hope each of you will go ahead and mark your calendars so you can come by Monmouth and gander at Mother Nature’s finest.

Lunch for this meeting will be catered by Uptown Grocery and will be $12 for each person each.

The lunch will take place at 12:15 p.m. Please call the Garden Club office at 601-443-9065 to make your reservations for lunch by Tuesday.

We hope to see everyone at this meeting, interesting program and delectable lunch.
