VICKSBURG — Services for Brenda Walley Dawkins, 62, of Vicksburg, who died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at River Region Medical Center, will be at noon Friday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Busby officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dawkins was born June 27, 1951, in Waynesboro, the daughter of Nollie Walley and Ouida Busby Walley.

She was a former resident of Natchez, and had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 45 years.

She was a graduate of the Hinds Community College School of Nursing. She was a former employee of the International Paper Company and a member of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Dawkins was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Simmons and Betty Jean Tarver; three brothers, Jerry Walley, James Walley and Joe Walley.

Survivors include her husband, Fairley Dawkins; two daughters, Tammy Steed and husband, Ray, and Penny Ables and husband, Ricky Nevels, all of Vicksburg; two grandsons, Brandon Steed and Ryan Steed; four granddaughters, BreAnn Rayburn, Amanda Strange, Haley Steed and Kelcee Ables; one brother, Don Walley, of Vicksburg; and a number of other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Ernest Dawkins, Imon Dawkins, Dr. Walter Dawkins, Dennis Garner, Charles F. Dawkins, Ray Steed, Randy Bass and Steve Turcotte.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of CVICU of River Region Medical Center for the excellent care and love given to their wife, mother and grandmother.
