NATCHEZ — In 1987, then Natchez Mayor Tony Byrne and the board of aldermen wrote a proclamation and declared February “Youth of America Month.”

In commemoration, the on-the-move 4-H club is still celebrating an honoring this proclamation.

A workshop is scheduled at 5 p.m. today at the volunteer fire department on Steamplant Road to make and distribute Valentine’s Day cards and treats and have a birthday party celebrating all those born in February at the Crown Rehabilitation Nursing Center.

The public is invited to participate.
