FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Clarice King 70, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 2 p.m. today at Comer Funeral Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Richard Cullum officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.
Clarice was born July 14, 1943, the daughter of Vernie Lee and Hazel Oliphant Cotten and passed from this life surrounded by her loving family. Clarice loved spoiling her kids and grandkids, and they were the most important thing in her life. She lived to see smiles on their faces as well as her friends or even strangers she had just met. She was crafty at her sewing for family and friends, and spending time fishing was a favorite pastime she enjoyed. She will surely be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lester Cotten and Garland Cotten.
Survivors include her children, Madrid Augustine and husband, Chris, of Monterey and Debbie Kirby and husband, Wade, of Ferriday; grandchildren, Clint Augustine and wife, Kristi, Crystal Augustine, Rami Parker and husband, Ryan, Zach Augustine, Alannah Floyd and husband, Blayne, and Victoria Kirby; 4 great-grand children, Ava, Emma, Brody and Adalyn; one sister, Geraldine Knapp and husband, Michael, of Natchez; one brother, David Cotten and wife, Gail, of McComb; a number of nieces and nephews; a special great-nephew, Mason Knapp; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Clint Augustine, Crystal Augustine, Zach Augustine, Blayne Floyd, Stanley Dawson and James Wright.
Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Williams, David Stowe Chris Augustine and Wade Kirby.
