NATCHEZ — Though it is only expected for a short time, Miss-Lou residents might face freezing rain tonight and Tuesday morning.

National Weather Service forecasts say rain is likely before midnight, possibly mixed with freezing rain with an expected low temperature around 32.

The rain is expected to continue into Tuesday morning, when temperatures will rise to a high near 40.

“If it gets cold enough, there might be some light icing on bridges and overpasses,” NWS Meteorologist Brian Koeneke said.

“There’s that potential for really light freezing rain early Tuesday morning, but it is going to warm up as we head into the day, though there is still going to be some risk for some heavier rain.”

Cold temperatures are forecast to remain with a high near 40 Wednesday, though the low Wednesday night is expected to dip to 27 before warming up into the mid-50s Thursday.
