MONTEREY — Services for Curtis Ray Adams, 72, of Monterey, who died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, in Monterey, will be at 2 p.m. today at Larto Baptist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Trisler officiating.
Burial will follow in Pease Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Adams was born April 19, 1941, in Book, the son of Curtis Adams and Essie White Adams.
He was a resident of Monterey and a member of the Baptist faith.
He worked and retired from Angelina Plantation with over 29 years of service.
He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Bennett Adams, Otto Adams and William L. Adams.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Peggy Adams; one brother, Noel W. Adams and wife “Cookie” of Larto; two sisters, Belva Arnold and husband, Earnest, of Jena, and Carolyn Vercher and husband, Eugene, of Ball; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be James Adams, Jo Adams, Dalton Book, Ben Adams, Lamar LaPrarie and Lee Farris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Book and Tyler Mire.
