NATCHEZ — Services for Ralph Cameron Lovitt, 86, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Robbie Savant officiating.

Burial will follow in Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Lovitt was born May 18, 1927, in Pachuta, the son of Swep H. Lovitt and Grace Evans Lovitt.

He was very devoted to his parents and siblings.

He attended Auburn University, where he was an outstanding tennis player, winning 35 matches and losing only three during his collegiate career.

Mr. Lovitt was a United States Navy veteran. He was a hardworking man and enjoyed giving and helping others and his family.

Mr. Lovitt is preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, LeAnn Lovitt.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Adele Hayles Lovitt; one son, R. Cameron Lovitt Jr., of Natchez; one daughter, Pam L. Sandel, of Natchez; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Wadsworth, Bill Lambert, J.R. “Buck” Denny, William McGehee Jr. and John Meche.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
