JACKSON (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Adams County until 1 a.m. Friday.
The weather service previously warned of severe weather in Mississippi and Louisiana.
Parts of Mississippi and Louisiana — including Adams County and Concordia Parish — were under a wind advisory from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. today.
A storm system moving into Mississippi from the east will bring a threat of strong storms and high winds beginning this afternoon.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency says damaging wind gusts, quarter sized hail and tornadoes could threaten the entire state.
