FERRIDAY — Services for Vera Lucille Sanford, 78, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, in Natchez, will be at 2 p.m. today at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Whittington officiating.

Burial will follow in Carlton Family Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sanford was born Dec. 20, 1935, in Natchez, the daughter of Edward and Hattie Carlton.

Mrs. Sanford was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Sanford; and two sons, Ronnie and Kenneth Sanford.

Survivors include one son, Delton Sanford and wife, Loretta; one daughter, Cindi Scuilli and husband, Brian; three brothers, Sonny Carlton and wife, Elaine, David Carlton and wife, Linda, and Shelby Carlton and wife, Sally; six sisters, Marilyn Quinn, Inez King, Peggy Adams, Sybil Nugent and husband, Shelby, Elaine McEntyre and husband, Jerry, and Margie Adams; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers will be Randy Nugent, Stewart Evans, Jerry McEntyre Jr., Terry Evans, Clifton Carlton and Jim Boyd.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dickey Evans and Gary Carlton.
