Former Adams County inmate sentenced to six years for riot

JACKSON — A former inmate at the Adams County Correctional facility was sentenced Wednesday for his role in a jail riot.
U.S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis said Adrian Romero-Carrera, 27, originally of Oaxaca, Mexico, was sentenced Tuesday by Senior U.S. District Judge David Bramlette III.
Romero-Carrera faces six years and three months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for rioting at the Adams County Correctional facility.
Davis said Romero-Carrera was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,350,113.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Lemon, Davis said in a release.
