ACME, La. — Services for Gladys Virginia McCall, 74, of Acme, La., who died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in Acme, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Acme Baptist Church with the Rev. Cindy Robinson officiating.

Burial will follow in Acme Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Mrs. McCall was born June 8, 1939, in Monterey, the daughter of Jeff Davis Beard and Mary Crane Beard.

She was a resident of Acme and a member of Acme Baptist Church.

Mrs. McCall was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Davis McCall; five brothers, R. W. Beard, B. B. Beard, Curtis Beard, Blount Beard and Pugh Artis Beard; and six sisters, Dorothy Ford, Opal Mitchell, Ida Mae Thompson, Essie Jordan, Faye Coleman and Clara Jones.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Seahon McCall; two sons, James McCall and wife, Terri, of Vicksburg and Charles McCall of Acme; one daughter, Virginia Ross of Youngsville; four grandsons, Josh McCall and wife, Lana, John Ross, Jeffery Ross and DeWayne Finley; three granddaughters, Jamie Ross, Jessica Lipsey and Felicia Grantham; four great-grandsons, Avery Rouse, Grayson Ross, Adam Grantham and Luke Finley; eight great-granddaughters, Layla McCall, Lida McCall, Gabby Ross, Cali Jo Grantham, Marli Crum, Ava Brown, MaKayla Finley and Avery Finley; one sister, Bernadette Young of Monterey; and a number of nephews, nieces, other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mark Beard, Greg Beard, Kelvin Beard, Leo Mitchell, Tony Mitchell and Brett Beard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Andre Morace, AA Morace, Verl Day, Glenn Borden, Ernie Thompson, Kent White, T. D. Pugh, Charles Ed Doughty, Donnie Burley, J. W. Thompson and Brad Young.
