FAYETTE — Services for James Alexander “Sonny” Ikard Sr., 66, of Natchez, who died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at VA Medical Center in Jackson, will be at noon Saturday at Jefferson Chapel African Methodist Church in Fayette with the Rev. Anthony Colenburg officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Ikard was born Jan. 14, 1948, in Jefferson County, the son of Bernard Jones Sr. and Mary Ikard.

Mr. Ikard was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Eli Whitney Ikard Sr. and Mary Fitzgerald Ikard; one brother, Wayne Murray; one sister, Eartha Gentry; one uncle, Eli Whitney Ikard Jr.; and one aunt, Alice Gaines.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Ikard Gentry; one son, James A. Ikard Jr. and wife, Angelika; two daughters, Sandra Dee and companion, Carl and Fatimah and husband, Ahmed; four grandchildren, Donovan Andrea Ikard, Majesty Bradford, Leemond Bradford and Kamie Ikard; mother of his children, Dee Etta Green; one god-child, Patricia Ware and husband, Kenny; special friend, Stella Johnson; and a number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
