FAYETTE — Services for Jessie Stampley Jr., 74, of Fayette, who died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m Saturday at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Stampley was born July 14, 1939, in Jefferson County, the son of Jessie Stampley Sr. and Mamie Williams Stampley.
He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church senior choir.
Mr. Stampley was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clarence Everett Stampley and Herman Stampley; and two sisters, Lillie Stampley and Diane Stampley.
Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Carter Stampley; six sons, Lawrence Stampley, Kenneth Stampley, Jessie Lovell Stampley and wife, Shelly, Larry Stampley, Cedric Maurice Stampley and wife, Takeisha and Cedric Martee Stampley; eight sisters, Mary Stampley Brown and husband, Dave, Doris White and husband, Eugene, Gerterude Green and husband, Robert, Alberta Thomas and husband, Woodrow, Mamie Corr and husband, Columbus, Nellie Tenner and husband, the Rev. Issac, Ethel Mae Rozelle and husband, James and Joyce Chambers; 28 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
