Finally! The picturesque visions of springtime in Natchez are beginning to appear around every corner and down every one-way street.
This month, the members of the Natchez Garden Club will be hosting the monthly membership meeting and program at 11 a.m. Thursday at Magnolia Hall.
At 11:30 a.m., Trevor Brown, deputy director for the Historic Natchez Foundation, will present to the members and guests about the grand restorations taking place in Natchez and the surrounding areas.
Brown has personally overseen the rehabilitation of over 120 historic buildings, which were damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Through the use of audiovisual equipment, Brown will show some of the restorations that are currently in progress, as well as restorations that have been completed over the past several years in Natchez and the rest of the Miss-Lou.
For lunch, there will be a catered menu, which is $12 per person. Be sure to make your reservations for the lunch by Tuesday by calling the Garden Club office at 601-443-9065.
Remember, you can come to the meeting and presentation without having to attend the lunch if your schedule does not allow.
For our community projects we have ongoing throughout the year, please bring any personal hygiene items for the Guardian Shelter.
Also, please bring canned green beans to donate to The Stew Pot.
As always, these are important local organizations that appreciate your help and support for the upcoming spring months and Easter holidays.
