ST. JOSEPH — Graveside services for Ernest Lott Hestle, 67, of St. Joseph, who died Saturday, March 1, 2014, in Winnsboro, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Wesley Chapel Cemetery with Sheriff Rickey Jones officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today with a Rosary service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Ferriday.

Mr. Hestle was born Aug. 15, 1946, in St. Joseph, the son of Ernest and Lola Hestle.

He was employed by the Tensas Parish Sheriff’s Office for 25 years, where he served as warden. He also served as Tensas Parish constable for 18 years.

He was an avid outdoorsman and horseman, who greatly enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren. He was greatly admired by his peers and was a well respected member of his community.

Mr. Hestle was preceded in death by his father; and his father-in-law, Ray Fisher.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Sharon Hestle; his mother; two sons, Ryan Hestle and wife, Jenny, of Ferriday and Jason Hestle and wife, Leslie, of Monroe; two daughters, Casey Miller and husband, Doug, of Waterproof, and Kelly Jones and husband, Mike, of St. Joseph; seven grandsons, Zach Jones and wife, Elizabeth, Peyton Jones, Dylan Hopkins, Dalton Hopkins, Duncan Miller, Thomas Jay Hestle and Dixon Hestle; four granddaughters, Marie Miller, Maggi Hestle, Emalyn Hestle and Caroline Hestle; two great-granddaughters, Kara Jones and Kendall Jones; two sisters, Anita Hestle of Baton Rouge and Frances Hestle of St. Joseph; and a number of nephews, nieces, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Zach Jones, Peyton Jones, Dylan Hopkins, Dalton Hopkins, Duncan Miller, Cash Melville, Mike Jones and Doug Miller.

Honorary pallbearers will be William Fisher, George Fisher, Richard Roller and employees of the Tensas Parish Sheriff’s Office and Tensas Parish Courthouse.
