NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Elsie Geter Howard, 87, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Tracy Cusic officiating.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Howard was born April 23, 1926, in Doloroso, the daughter of Sterling Geter and Francis Jackson Geter.

She was baptist and member of Bright Star Baptist Church. She was a beautician.

Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, the Rev. Robert “T.J.” Howard Jr.; one son, Don Geter; and one aunt, Nellie Jackson.

Survivors include one son, Elston Howard and wife, Winona, of Fort Washington, Md.; one daughter, Nellie Faye Howard, of Natchez; one grandson, Jason Howard; and two granddaughters, Jessica Longmire and Jenna Howard; one sister, Francis Jones, of Detroit; and a number of other relatives and friends.
