Emergency crews work for hours to free man from truck wreck

CLAYTON — A Ferriday man wrapped his truck around a tree Monday evening after sliding off Louisiana 900.
Charles P. James II, 51, of Ferriday, was traveling on Louisiana 900 at approximately 10 p.m. when he slide off the road and hit a tree, authorities said.
Concordia Parish Fire District No. 2 officials and other emergency personnel worked for nearly two hours to remove James from the truck.
James was eventually transported to Riverland Medical Center before being airlifted to Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria with injuries to his legs.
James remained in the emergency room as of Tuesday evening.
