SICILY ISLAND — services for Printess Pete Goodwin, 76, of Sicily Island, who died Monday, March 10, 2014, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunny Side Church with the Rev. Jerry Sharp Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Goodwin was born April 28, 1937, in St. Joseph, the son of Henry Denton Goodwin and Dora Lee Goodwin.

He was a resident of Sicily Island. He retired from farming and Catahoula Parish Sheriff Department.

He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Goodwin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Elizabeth Goodwin; four brothers, Henry Goodwin, H.D. Goodwin, Ederson Goodwin and Ray Goodwin; five sisters, Viola McClenden, Reba Roberts, Darlene Adams, Bernice Grosch and Betty Joe Bingham; one grandson, B.J. Goodwin; and one great-grandson, Errol Bass.

Survivors include three sons, Johnny Goodwin and wife, Velvet, Randy Goodwin and wife, Connie and Bobby Goodwin, all of Sicily Island; one daughter, Dora Keller and husband, Lee, of Ferriday; one brother, Ben Goodwin and wife, Shirley, of Foules; and one sister, Faye Mize and husband, Milton, of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Cole Goodwin, Cody Goodwin, Dallas Bass Jr., Barry Sharp, Dallas Bass and Dillon Seals.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Seals and Kenneth McLeland.
