VIDALIA — Vidalia High School named Jeff Hancock as its new head coach.
Hancock comes to Vidalia with more than 18 years of college coaching experience and has published six offensive-related articles in magazines since 2003. Hancock, who married former Vidalia High School assistant coach and junior high coach Tommy Lanius’ daughter, said he can’t wait to settle down in Vidalia and begin his new challenge.
“People want to be associated with a winner, and people want to see you put in the work to do so,” Hancock said. “I think I’m pretty knowledgable on football, but it doesn’t matter what you know until you show everyone that you care. That goes for the kids and the community.”
