VIDALIA — A Vidalia man was airlifted to an Alexandria hospital Monday night after he hit a car that allegedly ran a stop sign on Rountree Road at the intersection of U.S. 84.

Fred W. Taylor, 46, of Vidalia, was driving his 2010 Harley Davidson Monday at approximately 8:30 p.m. when a 2003 Chevy Montecarlo driven by Pyran K. Johnson, 28, of Natchez, pulled out in front of him, Louisiana State Police Troop E Public Information Officer Scott Moreau said.

Taylor collided with the car, sustained severe injuries and was transported to Riverland Medical Center before being airlifted to Rapides Regional Medical Center, Moreau said.
