VIDALIA — Services for Virlina Portis Clay, 60, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Methodist Sugarland Hospital in Sugarland, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in Vidalia City Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ms. Clay was born Aug. 12, 1953, in Jackson, the daughter of Ritho and Dorothy Drumgold Portis.
She was employed as a nurse.
Ms. Clay was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Ritho Portis Jr.
Survivors include three daughters, Stephanie Dike and husband, Eden, of Sugarland, Sonja N. Warner and Sherrice Johnson, both of Baton Rouge; one brother, Gregory Portis and wife, Tonya, of Vidalia; three sisters, Rosamond P. Robinson, of Vidalia, Elaine Griffin and husband, Kelton, of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Jacqueline P. Williams and husband, George, of Missouri City, Texas.; one aunt, Mary Alice Vaughn, of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives.
