Elizabeth Ambrose of Fairhope, Ala., announces the engagement of her daughter, Carrie Elizabeth Ambrose to Andrew Hollis Smith, son of Donald and Sandra Smith of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is also the daughter of the late John Ambrose.

She is a graduate of Auburn University and is a graduate of the University of Mississippi in Oxford where she earned her doctorate.

She is a clinical psychologist at the North Florida South Georgia Veterans Health System in Gainesville, Fla.

She is the granddaughter of William and Dorothy Norton of Webster, Ky., and the late John and Elaine Ambrose of Robertsdale, Ala.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of the University of Mississippi in Oxford.

He is a web developer at the University of Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville, Fla.

He is the grandson of the late Hollis and Emma Britt and the late William and Ellis Jordan all of Natchez.

The will be a private ceremony at 6 p.m., May 10, 2014, in Magnolia Springs, Ala.

After a honeymoon to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic the couple will live in Gainesville, Fla.
