FERRIDAY — Services for Ruth Etheridge, 88, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at her residence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Denny Braswell and the Rev. Preston Holder officiating.

Burial will follow in New Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be form 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Etheridge was born Aug. 26, 1925, in Harrisonburg, the daughter of Daniel and Eunice Kelly.

She was a resident of Vidalia, a former resident of Cash Bayou and a member of Foules Church of God.

Mrs. Etheridge was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Etheridge; her parents; two brothers, Leon Kelly and Frank Kelly; five sisters, Mae Reeves, Clara McCarty, Elizabeth Tullos, Lottie Tyson and Florence Byrd.

Survivors include two sons, Jack Etheridge, of Pineville, and J.B. Etheridge, of Sterlington; two daughters, Sue McCormack and husband, E.L., of West Monroe, and Peggy Prunty and husband, Kenny, of Vidalia; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gary McCormack, Dusty Etheridge, Casey Etheridge, James Etheridge, Josh Etheridge, Shayne Lee McCormack, Elijah McCormack and Jessie Jones.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryer “Smiley” Boothe, Dr. Herman Gibson, Tommy Barron and Robbie “Mapels” Renard.
